THE MAN WHO CHANGED MY FUTURE IN PUBLISHING

A long time ago now, I found this software called THE ULTIMATE EBOOK CREATOR. It was a bit of a punt to buy it, but I was spending thousands on book preparation, cover design, editing. Things took a long time. I took the gamble and for about $25 bought UEC. (A forever license and regularly upgraded. In fact, I have recently bought Nitin Mistry’s new Universal Editor and what a grand piece of design it is!) So, I asked Nitin to tell us a little about himself. What a surprise to learn that he went to school in Bradford way back then! (I was a Hull boy! So my home was in East Yorks.) To be honest I got similar advice from our careers officer. I joined the RN and was found to have a very high IQ so I became an electronic warfare specialist! Oh! how wrong these careers officers were! There is a very specific mention here that I think is important. THE VIDEO TUTORIALS. There is a video for every question you may have. DON’T spend thousands on sharks who offer you editing and production. You can do it directly from the UEC writing box!

My name is Nitin Mistry and I created the Ultimate eBook Creator (UEC).

Instead of telling you about how to use UEC, which you can learn from the 50+ free videos on my website

https://UltimateEbookCreator.com, I would like to tell my story.

I was born in Tanzania (East Africa) but my roots go back to India (Gujarat).
My family emigrated to the UK when I was only 4 years old. We settled in Bradford West Yorkshire where my uncle was.

When I was in high school (they call it Grammar School in the UK) I was in my final year
and starting to think about either higher education or starting a job.

I remember having an interview with my school career advisor.
He sat me down.
I can still see his face and remember his words.
“Nitin, let’s be frank, you are not a smart guy, so i would strongly advise you go into trade and learn painting and decorating”.

I was so upset and angry at him I cried all the way home from school that day.

You may not know, but Indian families have very high expectations of their children.
They want their kids to be Doctors, Lawyers, Dentists; all the high status jobs.
It’s a very cultural thing.

Anyway, I think that lit a fire inside me.
I was so angry at this career advisor that I wanted to prove him wrong.
I also was not going to be allowed to stay in school to take my ‘A’ levels because I only passed three subjects.
I needed to pass 5 subjects to stay in school.

So I applied for college and spent the next 3 years studying Physics and Mathematics.
The only two subjects I was good at.

I ended up going to Bradford University to study Physics and Electronics.

My anger for that career teacher turned into thankfulness.
I realized that teacher pushed me to do better in life.

Fast forward to today.
I work for a very large telecommunications company here is Canada
as a senior software solution architect.
I also create software tools for authors/writers which I really love.

And yes I went back to my old school to actually thank that careers advisor
but he was not there any more.

What do I call myself? A novelist? A journalist? Writer on demand? Copywriter? Ghostwriter? Poet? Is there a single word to describe all these things? if anyone knows one please tell me. I started out life as a journalist after my service time in the RN. I was 22. My love then was music writing, contributing articles to most of the pop/rock magazines of the time. As time went by I ghostwrote biographies for celebs, wrote novels, and made a general living from writing everything from love letters to translating menus in China to acceptable English. I have written greetings cards, manuals, How to books on so many subjects I forget. My living has been as a writer on demand. So, my blog is an eclectic collection of HOW MY BRAIN WORKS. Recently I started writing blogs for company blogs. In my retirement I find myself writing more, about more subjects than I ever covered as a roving journalist. I ask myself why having reached the age of leisure why I am now busier than ever before! If you have a blog, or a job to offer, I'm an obsessive researcher and turnaround time is fast. Yes, I know, I'm a HACK. A writer for money. A gun for hire. But hey... we all have our failings. Thanks for calling in. Feel free to chat and comment. I'll even get back to you with a thank you note!
